Cold weather is unavoidable in New England, with or without snow it gets cold! The winter season offers another group of activities and challenges for the outdoor enthusiast to enjoy. The woods open up and one can see much further in a leafless landscape. frozen ground cover allows exploration of areas not easily accessible at other times of the year. There is a solitude in the winter woods that is seldom experienced during the warmer weather months. My favorite winter camping saying is No Bugs. No Bears!
